Virus Defense
One of the best defenses and most important things you can do to protect yourself (and your computer!) is to have an up to date anti-virus program running. You can purchase anti-virus software at any major retailer or download it on the internet directly from the vendors website. Additionally, many vendors offer free trials of anti-virus that can be downloaded on the internet.
Important:
- DO NOT download software directly from a third-party or un-trusted source.
- Before you install anti-virus software, please ensure that you have removed any other anti-virus software. (You can remove the software manually through the Add or Remove Programs section in your computer's Control Panel. Multiple anti-virus software programs can interfere with the protection of your machine. )
